Photo by: STEPHEN F. MORLEY | Nikos Mourkogiannis is Senior Partner at Panthea, a global consulting firm advising chairmen and CEOs on leadership. He is also a leadership advisor to the global strategy and technology firm Booz Allen Hamilton.
Mourkogiannis, a London resident, has worked on some of the most complex and important business deals of the last thirty years, and helped create the Harvard Law School Center on Negotiations with Roger Fisher, the author of Getting to Yes.
Mourkogiannis began his career as a student at Harvard where he worked with renowned Professor Fisher, developing Harvard’s first course on negotiation. He taught this course for several years eventually becoming Senior Advisor to the Program and part of the team that devised the “Single Negotiating Text,” used by the Secretary of State, Cyrus Vance, in the Camp David Accords.
He later joined Westinghouse where he was known for coining the term “offsets” and building the first “offset” programs in support of Westinghouse’s defense division, supplying F-16 aircraft to the Greek Air Force. Thereafter, he joined General Dynamics, where he was named its youngest Director of Programs.
Mourkogiannis returned to Harvard as a graduate student in the Business School, and upon graduation joined the strategic consulting firm Monitor Company, where he rose to be Chairman and CEO of Europe, Africa, Middle East and Eurasia. In 2004, he resigned to begin the reading and thinking that led to the book Purpose: The Starting Point of Great Companies. In 2005 he became Senior Partner at Panthea, a global firm based in London that consults with companies on strategic leadership issues.
